The school and kindergarten Habad-Lubavitch celebrates Chanukkah.
In the evening of December, 7 the first Chanukkah candle were kindled at the centre of Riga in the park near the Hall of Congresses. The last days of the holiday 13 – 15 December were marked by the three days long programme at school and in the kindergarten. As usual the parties were held in the Hall and were continued in the classrooms with schoolchildren, teachers and parents present. The participants of the first party were the children from age seven to sixteen. They showed a very interesting concert. The boy from the 6th form kindled the Seventh Chanukkah Candle. Then the children were divided into two teams for the game. The members of the playing teams had to name the theme or the point mentioned by the small children who attend the kindergarten. It’s absolutely clear that the theme of the game was Chanukkah. After the first half of the party was completed everybody went to their classrooms to eat doughnuts and fruits. Next day was the day of younger schoolchildren’s party. The last Eighth Chanukkah Candle was kindled at the School’s Hall followed by a concert. Then there was organized a game “The Field of Wonders” dedicated to the topics of Chanukkah. On the last day of Chanukkah there was a concert for older people. They came to the Hall which was beautifully decorated and listened to the performance of the children and then took pleasure in eating doughnuts and fruits. back |
